A lady who had travelled from Lahore for work was reportedly raped in the garrison city. The victim is a mother of two, according to reports.
The woman told Race Course police that she and her family were at a retail shop when they were approached by a guy handing out property promotional leaflets.
She alerted her husband about the advertising after receiving a leaflet, and he subsequently contracted a guy to learn more. The man persuaded her husband to come to Rawalpindi to get her a job in his project.
The woman then travelled to Rawalpindi with her husband and children. They arrived at Saddar, where the man was waiting for them in a black vehicle. When they arrived in Saddar, the guy requested her spouse to stay with his children. He informed the husband that he would be bringing his wife to an interview and would return shortly.
Led to a Hotel Room
According to her allegation, the man drove her to a hotel on Peshawar Road. He requested that she wait at the reception desk until he called her in for an interview. Despite her hesitation to enter the hotel room, she stated that she was led to a room and instructed to wait. The suspect then raped her and left, locking the door from within.
Her narrative tells how, as he left, she yelled and sought to apprehend him, but he managed to evade her. After doing a medical check on the victim, Race Course police arrested the culprit. According to the police, he will be brought before a court of law for remand custody.
Furthermore, the accused has been named Asif.

In a similar instance last year, a female from Islamabad went to a Karachi firm to look for work at the suggestion of a friend, but she was harassed and raped at gunpoint. Later, the accused and her uncle went to the police station to file a case against the accused. However, after filing a complaint against the accused, the police declined to take further action since he was influential.
It is miserable that Pakistan has not done enough to safeguard women from assault. The vicious circle of men trying rapes and citizens seeking justice never ends. It is our responsibility to protect ourselves since males cannot protect us from a system designed for their safety.
A first-year female college student in Karachi was abducted and reportedly gang-raped by barbaric guys earlier this year. What is the future of our country?
