Djokovic Talks About His Tough 2024 US Open: “Worst Tennis Ever”

Novak Djokovic is a professional tennis player who lost the game at the 2024 US Open, He was defeated by Alexei Popyrin. The match ended 6-4, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 in favor of Popyrin. This match disappointed many fans and experts expecting a lot from Novak Djokovic. Djokovic shared his honest reviews about his performance, saying it was “the worst tennis” I have played ever.

In his interview after the match, Djokovic said his performance was not good throughout the tournament. “On my end, honestly, the way I felt and the way I played from the beginning of this tournament, the third round is a success,” he said.  Djokovic has won 24 Grand Slam titles, but his performance in this tournament was not good.

Djokovic had worse with his hit and made 14 double faults.

“I have played some of the worst tennis I have ever played, honestly, serving by far the worst ever,” Djokovic said. Hitting right is very important in tennis, especially on fast hard courts such as at the US Open. He has faced problems with serving due to which he has a lot of pressure on him during the tournament.

Djokovic said that winning the gold medal at the Paris Olympics affected his performance. “It had an effect. I spent a lot of energy winning the gold, and I did arrive in New York just not feeling fresh mentally and physically,” he admitted. He said that’s why I do not have enough energy and I was unable to focus on this tournament.

 Djokovic won his first two matches at the US Open, but he wasn’t playing well. He has problems with hitting the ball which makes the game difficult for him to win. He always performs well in big tournaments, but this time was unable to do it.

With Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz out, anyone can win the tournament. “If [Popyrin] plays well, he can beat anyone,” Djokovic said. He said that the match has become more exciting now because no one can predict who will win.

Djokovic also said that there are a lot of chances that many players could win the title. “Sinner is the main favorite, but then, you know, Tiafoe is there as well as American favorite Fritz. Zverev, you have great guys playing well, and Rublev, and Dimitrov in this part of the draw. Anybody can take it. It’s going to be interesting to see who takes the title in the end,” he said. This tournament has become exciting due to the presence of many strong players.
