Olivia Munn and John Mulaney have shared exciting news about their second child, a daughter. The name of their daughter is Méi June Mulaney. She was born on September 14, 2024. Olivia announced this news on her Instagram and shared a heartfelt message about her journey to motherhood.
Olivia also shared the meaning of her daughter’s name Méi which means “plum” in Chinese. In her post, she said that her daughter is like a “little plum” and “little dragon,” which is a celebration of the year of the dragon in the Chinese zodiac. Olivia also has a son who is now two years old and his name is Malcolme.

Olivia also shared her journey which was not easy and was full of challenges. Last year, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and she had gone through multiple surgeries and treatments. She was also diagnosed with a double mastectomy and a hysterectomy, which meant she could not carry any more children. Despite this sad news, Olivia was hopeful and decided to freeze her eggs before her surgeries because she wanted to have more children.
In her Instagram post, Olivia shared her emotions about the fact that she was not able to carry her daughter. She shared all about the gestational surrogate, calling her a “real-life angel” for helping them expand their family. Olivia expressed immense gratitude for the surrogate’s support during the pregnancy, saying, “Words cannot express my gratitude that she kept our baby safe for 9 months.”
Olivia said that it was a joyful moment for her when she welcomed Méi. She shared a lovely photo of herself with John and their little girl in the hospital, which it’s showing how much they are with their newborn baby.
John also shared his happiness on social media. He joked about “stealing” items from the hospital, a humorous nod to the experiences new parents often share. He said he loves her daughter so much that he could not express it.
Olivia and John got married in July 2024, just a few months before her daughter Méi. They got married in a private office officiated by Olivia’s former co-star Sam Waterston, in which Malcolm was present as a witness. The couple is very happy and enjoying parenthood and often shares joyful moments with Malcolm. Malcolm has gone on many adventurous trips with his parents.
Olivia loves to spend time with his son even when she is facing severe health issues. She said that her son is her great strength and it helps her to face her health challenges with strength. In her words, she said that she forgot about her sickness when she was with her son.
